Star Meter

Sure, it’s not the most important thing in an actor’s life. I would put great training, a ton of theater experience and a constant desire for self discovery ahead of it. But, these days, having a high profile on the IMDB page is getting up there. Supposedly, prospective employers use it to “check” your heat level or, as they call it, your star meter.

Well, when I first started, my star meter was literally in the millions. Not that much heat, huh? Well, in the past year it’s hovered anywhere between 29,000-95,000. Not horrible. I’m no Jennifer Lawrence but it’s climbing. For that, I have two feature films and two major network and cable shows to thank, not to mention a few web series.

My last 12-15 months have been pretty busy. A recurring role on USA Network’s Graceland opposite Aaron Tveit, a guest starring role on ABC’s Nashville opposite Chip Esten, a supporting role in a film, Papa, opposite Giovanni Ribisi and a supporting role in my own film, Walt Before Mickey, opposite Thomas Ian Nicholas and Jon Heder. More than credits of course, it has been good fun work. I could always use more of it but I’m grateful for what I’ve gotten.

Looking forward to acting in more of my own projects thanks to my new partnership with Khoa Le at Kvibe Productions, LLC. It should be an even more exciting next year. Till then.

Excited To Join Kvibe Productions

I’m very excited to announce that I have joined Kvibe Productions, LLC, an award winning Film, TV and Commercial Production Company located in the NY/NJ area as their Director of Development. I will be taking on Head Writer, Producer duties as well as Creative Direction.

Kvibe Productions has won numerous business awards along with their sister companies, Live Picture Studios and Climb The Search. To that end, I’ll be lending a hand in their corporate development side as well.

This has been a natural followup to my creative partnership with their CEO and Founder, Khoa Le. As most of you know, Walt Before Mickey, a film that I worked almost a full year on in the capacities of producing, writing, casting and acting is almost ready to be released to the world.

I can’t stress how much director, Khoa Le, should be commended for his work on this project. Not only did he direct the film… he took on an executive producer role and he and the Kvibe Production team took on all post production duties. Kvibe oversaw the editing, coloring, audio design, musical scoring and trailer creation for the entire film. I was able to work closely with Khoa and Kvibe during the post production process and we are very excited to release our first full length feature together.

Walt Before Mickey stars Thomas Ian Nicholas, Jon Heder, David Henrie, Jodi Sweetin, Ayla Kell, Taylor Gray, Hunter Gomez, Natasha Sherritt and yours truly, Frank Licari. It’s been a labor love for Khoa and I and we are very proud of the work that we were able to bring to the screen.

Khoa and I are already developing our next three film and tv projects together and I’m very excited about what the future holds for our partnership.

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my very good friend, talented director, Ari Taub. Ari had the unfortunate opportunity of starting off as the original director on this project but due to clashes with the executive producers (for good reasons), he was unceremoniously let go. I commend him for his work on the project and although he will not get credit on this film, his work can be seen in all of the flashback scenes. Despite the circumstances, it was wonderful to work alongside him for the little time that we did.

For more information on all my upcoming projects, please visit my IMDB page, like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter.

Director, Khoa Le, let's Walt (Thomas Ian Nicholas) and George (Frank Licari) in on his master plan for the scene.

There’s A New Story Everyday

Sitting at Panera bread in Palm Beach Gardens, waiting for two colleagues/friends coming in from the Bahamas. They’ve hired me to write a new screenplay based upon one of their true stories growing up in the Bahamian drug trade. Disguised as an artist, my friend, ran drugs for Bahamian drug traffickers from Mexico and Colombia into Florida. It’s going to be quite a story. I’ll be getting all the details from him and then turning it into a film. Think Bahamas culture meets Scarface. We’ll see where this one goes. After the meeting I’m off to Orlando to finish writing two screenplays this week. By the time I come home on Thursday, I want to have both of them finished and start developing the Bahamas Project. Life and career may not be consistent in terms of financial success but it sure is interesting. I’ll keep you all posted.

Busy March

Hey all, I just finished producing, writing and hosting the Palm Beach International Film Festival’s Student Showcase of Films Awards Show. It was my eighth year in a row. I played Captain Kirk and performed a Bruno Mars parody that I wrote and recorded. Had a blast. We had county commissioners, local politicians and some celebrities like Burt Reynolds and Vanilla Ice show up. Looking forward to all of the feedback from it. I’m in the midst of writing A LOT. Have three screenplays and two new musicals in the works at the moment. Looking forward to finishing each and every one of them. Look out for Web Series which premiers this month on ComedyFlo Entertainment’s Youtube Channel. It’s a web series that I starred in, playing two roles, and helped associate produce. Should be fun.
